Episode 20: Lana April Reed (formerly Shakta Khalsa; Joined in1972)

Lana Reed (formerly Shakta Khalsa) started practicing Kundalini Yoga in 1976.  She lived in the Baltimore Ashram where she met Kartar, her husband.  She lived fully committed to the path, worked with children in the dharma, and raised a son, Ram Das, who went to MPA for many years.

Lana started making inner shifts beginning  in 2001, and around 2008 the Dharmic identity no longer represented her fully, and she changed her outer look, and more recently, she changed her name as well.  She and her husband, who also has changed tremendously over the last decade, have found a way to let each other be themselves (most of the time!)l

Lana is a political and social activist, author of yoga books, and founder of Radiant Child Yoga, a method of being with children that allows them to maintain their tremendous wisdom and radiance.
